New Principal

Great afternoon, everyone!

It is with great excitement that I write an introduction to you as the new Interim Principal of Wright Elementary School.  I am honored to have the opportunity to lead our school.  Teachers have shown their hard work, dedication, and compassion for our educated scholars.   I feel very fortunate to be part of this school and the community.  I look forward to seeing advancements in our scholars,  working closely with parents, and collaborating with the community for overall success.   

I have been dedicated to the field of education since the 90’s.  I have worked with students ranging in age from Kindergarten through 12th grade in a variety of roles. I have been an exceptional education, regular education, and gifted teacher K-8, and an Elementary Assistant Principal and a High School Assistant Principal.  I am thrilled to bring my skills as an educational leader to Wright Elementary School and to work with you for our scholars' success both academically and behaviorally.  

On a personal note, I am a native from Vicksburg, Mississippi.  I graduate from Belhaven College with my Bachelor’s Degree.  I earned my Master’s Degree from Jackson State University, and I am a Ph.D. Candidate at Jackson State University currently, where I will graduate in December.  I have one grown daughter, Brooke Rigsby, that is 24 years old, and a puppy, Munchie, that I adore very much.
